Gabriel Hailtree is a multi-disciplinary artist from Aotearoa (New Zealand), currently based in Te Pātaka-o-Rākaihautū (Banks Peninsula).

They were born in Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) in the 90’s, and spent their teenage years in Te Matau-a-Māui (Hawkes Bay).

Wanting to see everything all at once, they've travelled slowly throughout Aotearoa over the last decade, immersing themselves in the cultures and lifestyles of many different towns and cities.

Moving this frequently has given them access to a wide spectrum of live music, and Hailtree has been fortunate enough to photograph everything from international artists in large arenas, to local bands at the pub down the road.

Through music photography they developed a knack for double exposures, and love crafting images that bring out the energy they feel while watching live music.

Hailtree draws upon their name, and finds a lot of inspiration in the natural world.
