Gabriel Hailtree is a multi-disciplinary artist from Aotearoa (New Zealand), currently based in Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland).

Hailtree is no stranger to travel, she was born in Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) during the 90’s, but shifted to Te Matau-a-Māui (Hawkes Bay) for her teenage years.

Wanting to see everything all at once, she has travelled slowly throughout Aotearoa ever since, immersing herself in the cultures and lifestyles of many different towns and cities.

Moving this frequently has given her access to a wide spectrum of live music, and Hailtree has been fortunate enough to photograph everything from international artists in large arenas, to local bands at the pub down the road.

Through music photography she developed a knack for double exposures, and loves crafting images that bring out the energy she feels while watching live music.

Hailtree draws upon her name, and finds a lot of inspiration in the natural world.
